Kharif crops in Pakistan
- Kharif season: This is the summer season in Pakistan, lasting from approximately April to June for sowing and October to December for harvesting. Kharif crops require hot and humid weather conditions and depend heavily on monsoon rains. Major Kharif crops include rice, cotton, sugarcane, maize (corn), and pulses like moong, mash, bajra, and jowar.
- Rabi season: The Rabi season is the winter season in Pakistan, lasting from October to December for sowing and April to May for harvesting. Rabi crops are sown in the late fall and harvested in the spring. They require cool and dry weather conditions with occasional rainfall. Major Rabi crops include wheat, gram, lentils (masoor), tobacco, rapeseed, barley, and mustard.
