The first revelation received by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Cave of Hira comprised the initial five verses of Surah Al-Alaq.

The correct answer is Ali al Murtaza (R.A). He is famously known as the 'Gateway to Knowledge' (or 'Gate of the City of Knowledge'), a title bestowed upon him by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself, who stated, 'I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate.' This profound statement underscores Ali's unparalleled wisdom, deep understanding of Islamic sciences, and his role as a primary source of religious jurisprudence and interpretation for the early Muslim community. His intellectual prowess and comprehensive grasp of the Quran and Sunnah made him an indispensable guide for seekers of knowledge. In contrast, Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A) was known as 'As-Siddiq' (The Truthful), Umar Farooq (R.A) as 'Al-Farooq' (The Discerner), and Usman ibn Affan (R.A) as 'Dhul-Nurayn' (Possessor of Two Lights). These titles reflect their unique contributions and characteristics, but none are associated with being the 'Gateway to Knowledge' like Ali (R.A).

Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (also spelled Gilani) was a highly revered Islamic scholar, preacher, and Sufi saint who founded the Qadiriyya Sufi order. He was born in Gilan, Persia, but spent most of his life in Baghdad, which was a major center of Islamic learning during his time. He died in Baghdad in 1166 CE and was buried there. His shrine, known as the Al-Jilani Shrine, is a significant pilgrimage site for Muslims worldwide. The other options are incorrect: Tehran is the capital of Iran, Damascus is the capital of Syria, and Multan is a city in Pakistan, none of which are the burial place of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani. His enduring legacy and the widespread influence of the Qadiriyya order underscore the historical and spiritual importance of Baghdad in his life and final resting place.

The word Ramadan (Arabic: رمضان) literally derives from the Arabic root ramida or ar-ramad, which means "scorching heat" or "dryness." This etymology is often linked to the intense heat of the summer months during which the fasting month originally fell in the pre-Islamic Arabian calendar. It also metaphorically suggests the intense spiritual heat and thirst experienced during fasting, which is believed to burn away sins. Option D, "scorching heat," is therefore the correct literal translation. Options A ("holy"), B ("training"), and C ("practical guidance") describe aspects or purposes of Ramadan, but they are not its direct literal meaning. While Ramadan is indeed a holy month of spiritual training and guidance, these are its connotations and benefits, not its linguistic origin. The literal meaning emphasizes the physical and spiritual intensity of the observance.

The first revelation (wahee) to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) consisted of the first five verses of Surah Al-Alaq.

The correct answer is 615 CE. The second migration to Abyssinia (now Ethiopia) took place in 615 CE, approximately two years after the first migration.

Historical Context of the Two Migrations

The migrations to Abyssinia are significant events in early Islamic history. The first migration, which occurred in 613 CE, involved a small group of Muslims seeking refuge from the persecution of the Quraysh tribe in Mecca. They were led by Hazrat Uthman ibn Affan and his wife Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The second migration, which took place in 615 CE, involved a much larger group of approximately 100 Muslims (including 83 men and 18–19 women). This group was led by Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The second migration was prompted by the escalating persecution and the growing hostility of the Quraysh towards the new Muslims.

Both groups found refuge under the Christian ruler of Abyssinia, Negus (King) Ashama ibn Abjar, who treated them with kindness and protected them from the envoys sent by the Quraysh to bring them back.

Why the Other Options Are Incorrect

• 614 CE: This is too close to the first migration and is not recorded as a separate migration event. There is no historical evidence of a migration in this year.
• 616 CE: Some sources may vary in their dating, but the most commonly accepted and widely referenced year in standard historical accounts is 615 CE. The 616 CE date is less common and appears in alternate narrative traditions.
• 617 CE: This year is not associated with the second migration. By 617 CE, the majority of the migrants had already settled in Abyssinia, and some had even begun returning to Mecca.

Therefore, based on the most widely accepted historical records, the second migration to Abyssinia occurred in 615 CE, making it the only correct answer among the given choices.
