The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), responsible for monitoring and reviewing the implementation of the Convention. Each session addresses critical climate change issues.

• The twenty-third session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 23), held from 6–17 November 2017, was officially hosted by Fiji but took place in Bonn, Germany. This was due to Fiji's logistical constraints as a small island developing state.
• "Kyoto, Japan" hosted COP 3, where the Kyoto Protocol was adopted.
• "Marrakech, Morocco" hosted COP 7 and COP 22.
• "Rome, Italy" has not been a host city for a COP session.
