In Quran, how many Makki Surahs are there?

According to Islamic scholarship, there are 86 Makki Surahs in the Holy Quran. These chapters are defined as those revealed in Makkah before the migration (Hijrah) to Madinah. Together with the 28 Madani Surahs, they make up the total 114 Surahs.While there is general consensus on the distinction between the revelations, a slight difference of opinion exists among some scholars regarding the exact categorization of 12 Surahs, leading some sources to cite 82 to 89 Makki Surahs.Makki Surahs generally focus on the foundations of faith, the oneness of Allah (Tawheed), prophethood, the Day of Judgment, and moral principles.
