Which army chief appointed himself as the President of Pakistan?

General Pervez Musharraf seized power in a military coup in 1999 and subsequently appointed himself President of Pakistan. This act marked a significant period of military rule. While Ayub Khan and Yahya Khan were also military rulers, Musharraf is the most recent example of an army chief directly appointing himself to the presidency. Aslam Beg did not.
