Who colonized Argentina in the 16th century?

Spain was the primary European power that colonized Argentina during the 16th century. Spanish explorers established settlements and integrated the region into their vast colonial empire, forming the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. Germany, Russia, and France did not colonize Argentina.
