Captain Sarwar Shaheed was the First Recipient of Pakistan's highest military award, the Nishan-e-Haider, for his exceptional bravery during the 1948 Kashmir War. Major Aziz Bhatti, Major Muhammad Akram, and Major Shabir Sharif were also recipients but received the award later.
